BY-LAWS OF CONSTITUTION:
Article #2 Section #2 states: non-members, will be charged $1000.00 for burial and cemetery maintenance. This amount shall
be collected before the grave is opened.
Article #3 Section #1 states: the family of the deceased will be asked to erect a conventional stone marker within 90 days
after burial: the headstone is to be set in a 6" concrete border, and the footstone erected flush with the ground.
Article #4 states: Flowers placed on graves will be removed and discarded after a reasonable length of time by the family.
All flowers and containers are to be kept off of the grass so mowing can be done.
All flowers should be on or attached to the tombstone effective March 1, 2006.

ARTICLE #VI: AMENDING THE BY-LAWS
The by-laws of this constitution may be amended by two-thirds vote of the membership of the church.
ARTICLE #VII: RATIFICATION
Upon ratification by two-thirds majority of votes from the membership ofthe church, this constitution will
become effective immediately.
BY-LAWS OF THE CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE #1: MEANS OF SUPPORTING CEMETERY
The committee shall seek to establish a savings account of $5,000.00 by 1987, in order to make the cemetery
self-supporting.
ARTICLE #11: CRITERIA FOR BURIAL IN CANAAN CEMETERY
Section #1:
All active members, whose names appear on the membership roll, and all shut-in members, who
have been active shall be buried without charge.
Section #2:
Non-members, will be charged $1,000.00 for burial, and cemetery maintenance. This amount
shall be collected before the grave is opened.
Section #3:
Children of members, up to 18 years of age, shall be treated as members.
ARTICLE #ill: GRAVE MARKERS
Section #1:
The family ofthe deceased will be asked to erect a conventional stone marker within 90 days
after burial; the headstone is to be set in a 6" concrete border, and the footstone erected flush with the ground.
Section #2:
Families of non-members will be asked to sign a contract, to this effect, upon receipt of
the burial fee.
Section #3:
The families of those already buried, and having an unmarked grave will be contacted by the
committee and asked to erect a marker immediately.
ARTICLE IV: FLORAL TRIBUTES
Flowers placed on graves will be removed and discarded after a reasonable length oftime by the family. All
flowers and containers are to be kept off of the grass so mowing can be done. All flowers should be on or attached to the
tombstone effective March 1, 2006.
ARTICLE #V: INTERPRETATION
The interpretation of this constitution or any subsequent amendments to this constitution shall rest in the hands of the
cemetery committee. Should a matter, not covered in the constitution, arise which needs immediate action, there must be a
meeting called where at least 3 members must be present and in agreement.
