Twenty nine coaches gathered
at Sand Hill Scout Reservation in Brooksville for the Pre FMCA Rally. Sunday
afternoon, January 30 we began with a social hour which included an introduction to the history of Ice Cream, presented by
Robert Lowery, before we left for the Bayport Inn for a great seafood dinner. Monday
morning our hosts, Pat and Yvonne Brewer #12728 served us a delicious breakfast before we went to the Webster Flea Market. The flea market is one of the largest in Florida and is only open on Mondays.
As we returned to Brooksville
we did a short “Poker Run” that took us to some interesting and unusual places of business. Our final stop was at the Sweet Tooth Ice Cream Shop where the Lowerys scooped up our ice cream concoction
of choice; banana splits were a big favorite.
Late Monday afternoon we
enjoyed another social hour followed by a wonderful meal prepared by our hosts. After
dinner we were entertained by Roger and Sharon Cousins. They shared love songs and asked us to tell them the year the song
became popular as well as the artist who sang the song. We discovered determining
the year was much more difficult than determining the artist. Winners of each
round received Hershey’s Candy Kisses.
After a continental breakfast
Tuesday morning many of the group lined up to caravan in to the FMCA Southeast Area Rally at the Brooksville Airport.
