The good old King James of 1611.  How many times have we heard it?  Yet there are few who have even seen one, and fewer still who can read it with it's old english.  Here is the first page as an example.

This original included both the Apocrapha, AND a very lenghty preface and LETTER which have been removed from all modern versions.

It is this letter which gives a history and WARNS the reader to be extremely careful on accepting their interpretation of the texts.  That is, we should use their log (the Strong's Concordance) to determine for ourselves the ultimate meaning of a passage.

Religionists have changed even the Strong's from the original version, which is why you should look for a 'Hendricksons' exhaustive version when you buy one.   Beware of the "new Strong's" versions.

The prelude and letter are as folows.  It was scanned, and is somewhat hard to read on line here.

If you will send e-mail and request,  I have an Adobe PDF file of the letter which I will send.
