Verse 1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what
buildings are here!
This (second) Jewish temple, known also as Herod’s temple, took 46 years to build, <John 2:20>. We do have
extant a decent description of it as given by Josephus. It must have been a magnificent building for that time, as evident
by the words of the disciples. The disciples had a lot to learn. Great buildings were to be marveled at, since it took so
many man-hours of labor to construct them. This one they thought was especially precious because men had built it as a temple
to God. Today we see many buildings much greater in size than this one was, some are banks, some are insurance companies,
some sport a church nameplate.
By the time of Paul, many understood why the Master spoke the next verse. It is very plain even in the First Testament
<2Sam 7:5+, PSA 127:1, Isa 66:1> that God lives not in a building of stones, but within each of His children. <1
Cor 3:16, 2Cor 6:16>. Each of us who believe and follow His instructions < Matt 22:36-40> are walking Temples which
are pleasing to Him.
And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that
shall not be thrown down.
A strange answer, and one which took the disciples by surprise, evidently. Note that these words have not yet come to pass.
Though the temple was effectively destroyed by the Roman general Titus in AD 70, there still stands stones on one another.
The western wall is part of the foundation of that second temple. It is known as the wailing wall and is presently daily visited
in modern Jerusalem by devout Jews. The fulfillment looks forward to the time of the Return, when it will be turned to sand.
<Zech 4:7 and Zech 14:10>
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
Note that there were not necessarily only 4 present with Him at the time of these questions, but that it was these named
four who ASKED the questions.
Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
Note the TWO questions asked. Jesus chooses to answer the first question last. The first question "when", is answered in
verses 32 and 33, below. The second question regarding the sign(s) are given in fairly precise coordination to the seals of
And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
The first seal of Rev 6. Realize that this verse is an order and a commission from the Lord. <Isa 6:8-13>. We must
never forget that deception is the stock in trade of religion. <2 Tim 3:1-6, esp V6>. Most of these “silly women“,
the teachers and priests, are not even remotely aware that they have fallen under the influence of traditions which were born
in baal. They are indeed zealous for their own denomination’s belief system. See Matt 15:1-11 for just one of the many
examples. This, along with the next verse is the first seal of Rev 6.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
NOTE: Not that "they" will claim to be Christ, but many will come teaching in the Father’s Name and owning that Jesus
is indeed the Christ, thereby at least outwardly avoiding the condemnation of 1 John 1:22. It is indeed unfortunate that most
of these are so-called "christian" denominations who teach such lies as rapture, soul sleep, easter, a bacon-frying eternal
hell and praying to long-dead ,and man named “saints” for worldly favors.
Here He refers to the many "religions" which do not teach the sheep the truth of the Word, and most certainly not those
things which the Lord expects of them in that time when satan will appear as AC, who will indeed show the many “religious”
signs and wonders to deceive. <V14-19 below>, also Rev 13:13. The rider on the first horse of Rev 6 is therefore this
abominable false teaching even wrapped up in the religious trappings of all of the so-called "christian" denominations of
the present time. Observe this truth. The "bow" carried by this first rider is not a war weapon, but is "toxon" in the Greek,
therefore it a "fabric, cheap imitation" of the true (rain)bow of the Father as shown to Noah. <Gen 9:8-17> Note that
this true rainbow is symbolic of His Covenant (Testament) and is valid for ALL generations. The false covenant, though supposedly
based on Fathers Word, is thoroughly soaked with interpretations and ideas spouted by the religions and denominations. This
is the deception. This is the fabric imitation of God’s true covenant. Remember the old adage: “The best lie is
99% truth.” Lord help us.
As Paul, I would to God that at least one of these money-grubbing worldly denominations
WAS 99% true!
And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall
not be yet.
Expect wars He says. As long therefore as man wars with one another, it is not yet the final season. The opposite of war
is of course, peace. <1 Thess 5:1-4>. See the rider on the second horse, Rev 6:4. The first rider of Rev 6 is NOT the
final antichrist as some suppose, for the final AC is none other than Satan himself, the "abomination which maketh desolate"
<V14, below> . This is the second seal of Rev 6
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and
there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
The pangs of the second thru fourth seals, (riders) in Rev 6. It is most probable that at the fifth seal opening,(5=Grace)
the angels are instructed to withhold the "winds" until the sealing of the Elect is accomplished <Rev 7>. The results
of that sealing is manifested in the next verse. This is the destiny of the Elect. I think this locates the present time pretty
well. We are still in the fifth seal. Beloved when the sixth seal is opened, time will move with rapidity.
But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye
shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
The very beginning of the sixth seal. see Lk 12:2-12, also the notes on verse 30 below. This may be the beginning of the
time of the locusts, Rev 9.
And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
(A part of the sixth seal). This is easily accomplished today via TV, not by the funny preachers, but when the Elect are
delivered up at the seat of the new world order. The entire world will view the Elect as "terrorists", led by those two "nuts"
the witnesses who will bring worldwide plagues on the seat of the beast. <see Rev 11:3-10>. The plagues brought by the
2 witnesses and their result on mankind are described in <Rev 6:12-17> This is part and parcel of the sixth seal opening.
In Rev ch 6 the last 6 verses describing the various plagues brought down by these 2 witnesses convince many that this is
the time of Gods Wrath, and its time to prepare for His coming. <Rev 6:17>.
But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate:
but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
See LK 12:8-12
Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents,
and shall cause them to be put to death.
This occurs beginning at the sixth seal, <Rev 6:9-11> and culminates at the (flesh) death of the two witnesses in
<Rev 11:7-8>. These final two, most probably represent the absolute last of the Elect on the face of the earth. For
support of this see in that great Song of Moses, <Deu 32:36> <Dan 12:7> . And, yes, unbelieving family will surely
deliver you up as a terrorist and a nut, particularly since 9/11/01. You as a "religious fanatic" will need deprogramming
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
The world hates "terrorism" which is what the plagues of the two witnesses will appear to an unrepentant world to be. The
Elect will be a strong part of this hatred. <Rev 11:10>
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let
him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Yes indeed. "let him understand". In <Dan 12:11> it is quite plain, that this "abominable branch" (Satan himself)
appears EXACTLY 45 days before the return of Christ. That statement may be a shock to many who are expecting 5 months or 3
years, yet 45 days is EXACTLY what Dan 12:11 says. Read it for yourself. During this time, the Elect will be delivered up,
and murdered, every one. <Deu 32:36>. The "fleeing" of the Elect has to do with the spread of the truth and the testimony
against Satan. Jesus instructions to the Apostles included these instructions <Matt 10: 23-25>
And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
The housetop is the place of the true watchmen. <Eze 33:1-9> Now it does not take a lot of thought to figure that
the "house" being taught here is not a conventional home, but rather the location of the Elect "house of God", His family.
There will be no need at that time to worry about those who do not understand. Yet it is our duty to keep on keeping on, just
like Yashua did while hanging on the cross, knowing that one more soul was within reach hanging right beside Him. Though we
continue to try, the many cannot be reached at that time because the deception will be too great. We can reach them in the
millennium, Lord willing. see the parable of the foolish virgins, <Mt 25:2->
And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
The field is the world, <Mt 13:38>. The Elect are to be in the world, working, teaching truth up until this time.
At the time Satan appears, the deception of religion will be so great, that it will be even more difficult than at this present
time to reach them. The job of the Elect will quickly turn from teaching Fathers truth in the hope of pulling one more from
the fire to that of standing before the false one, and allowing the Spirit to fill us. Our garment is our wedding apparel.
If you are not always wearing it, it will do no good to go looking for it then.
But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
see <Jer 30:5-7> Here is not meant normal childbirth, but is a figure of the panic which ensues at this time. Christians
are to be the bride of Christ and not spiritually pregnant with denominationalism nor saint worship. Giving suck--Denominational
trash teaching such as rapture and otherwise generally offering the milk of the Word, and not the meat which will allow the
person to stand in the day of need. <Heb 5:12-14> <Isa28:9-13> <Isa 29:9-13>
And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
see Isa 6:13. Here it is declared that the tree which is of Life does indeed cast its leaves in the winter, but even so
their substance is within them, and will come forth at the proper season. So shall it be with the Elect
For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time,
neither shall be.
See <Dan 12>
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen,
he hath shortened the days.
Shortened, <Rev 8:12>. There the days are shortened by a third. But there is probably more to this saying. The time
of slew’s tenure is only 45 days, for example.
And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
We know that our Christ will not appear until AFTER satan makes his entry posing as Jesus. <Dan 11: 36-37>, <2
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even
See <Rev 13> all
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
Did He say I have told all the denominations all things? All preachers and priests? All who want to be religious? Nope.
He told YOU. When you say? Right here in His Word. Do you study it, or do you take a good brother’s word for what it
means? Beloved, this passage is a warning from Christ. He has told us.
Be careful to believe ONLY those things you have proved to your own satisfaction out of the Word. Don't take any mans word,
nor any denominational lie.
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
"in those days", that is after the beginning of the testing of your knowledge and faith by slewfoot, the witnesses bring
the plagues of Rev 6, verses 12-17, the sixth seal. My opinion is that the opening of this seal is the appearance of slewfoot.
The seals completion is the death of the witnesses. It is only after slew's parousia that the 2 witnesses are so mightily
endowed with the Holy Spirit.
These events are also described in Rev 11, just prior to the demise of the two witnesses. These plagues on the earth are
similar to those Elijah brought upon the wicked king Ahab and his wife,
Jezebel, as well as the plagues Moses brought upon Egypt at the exodus.
And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
These are some more of the works of the 2 witnesses <Rev 6:13>
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
see <Rev 11:15-19>
And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of
the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
see <Rev 14:13-20>
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
The fig tree is symbolic of true Israel, <Hos 9:10>, and also of the backslidden children. This is not necessarily
unbelievers, such as "babylon", but of the ones who claim to be of Judah and do lie. See Jer 24 and Rev 6:10.
29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
So we are to watch for the fulfillment of the seals. Where are we?
Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Well, now. Think a minute. Does God’s Word have limits in time or it’s validity? Look at the Words of the Master--
John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” Are we not sanctified in Christ forever?
Hence here, as throughout the entire Bible, He was not talking only to that generation who heard Him speak, but unto all
generations, and particularly those of the "fig tree generation", who would be alive and present in the flesh to witness those
things about which He spake. This is the great commission for the Elect of the last days. see <Lk 12:2-12> . Also see
verses 9-11 above
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
this verse and verse 33 are in "answer" to the first question of verse 4 above . Instead He commands us FOUR times in the
next 5 verses to WATCH. Lord, Help us to Watch.
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
To me this is plain: IF we Watch and ask, we will be shown the time.
34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to
every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing,
or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
