Note: The music most favored by the author and listened to over
and over when the book was being written, is that of J. S. Bach. Specifically:
The double CD J. S. Bach Sonatas and Partitas - Itzhak Perlman, Violinist.
On these CDs Perlman plays the beautiful Guanerius del Gesù of around
1740 - 'Ex Suaret' and the Antonio Stradivari 'Soil' of 1714.
Those of you who love the solo violin at its very best are recommended to
these CDs. It is worth a listen if only to see if you can discern the difference
between these two magnificent instruments.
