Approach or Methodology
Treatment Model: An Eclectic approach
in working with all clients including eating disorder clientele, as each case needs to be evaluated on an individual basis. What works for one client may not be the best fit for another. The main treatment models include but not are limited to: Cognitive Behavioral, a Feminist Approach and
Solution Focus (one of the Post Modern Theories).
Post Modern Therapy utilizes the three theories of Solution Focus, Narrative
Therapy & Collaborative Languages.
All of which are present focused and future oriented, working collaboratively with clients as the expert on their lives. These theories look at the problem being separate from the client. And, that the client’s own strengths will allow them to move past the problem and into resolution
of the problem (solution) quickly.
She works in a collaborative style so that all the members of the treatment
team can work together and be on the same page. The Treatment team can consist
of a number of professionals e.g. Therapist, Psychiatrist, Medical Doctor, Dietician & adjunct support groups as indicated. Putting together this team is an important part of the treatment plan and recovery
process.
