BEALL DNA STUDY

News Bulletin
by Stuart-James Beall

About a year ago, I ordered some SNP testing, with Ethnoancestry. Tom D. Beall, a friend and early participant in our DNA study, also helped to pay for this test, as an interested party.

Jim Wilson at Ethnoancestry has sent a final report, which should be of interest to most of our Beall participants. Jim's message appears below, with a link to the PDF certificate.

Hello James:

It is my pleasure to be able to send your final pdf results certificate.

Please note that you carry the S68 marker, which we in fact discovered in your DNA. This week we saw this marker in another man, and so have shown that it is a new rare group within R1b. EthnoAncestry will continue to research this new group to understand its origins. I see that there are a number of Beall matches to you on ysearch, I don't know whether they would be interested to take the S68 test, which we will be adding to our custom SNP range this week.

With thanks for your patience,

Dr Jim Wilson
Director
Ethnoancestry

As of 1 November 2007, the S68 marker has been found only in two individuals. The second individual was recently tested through FTDNA, on 37 Y-DNA markers. It may be interesting to compare our 37 markers, side-by-side.
