Welcome Fellow Cacher

Last updated on

This site is dedicated to the modern day treasure hunter known as the Geocacher or Cacher for short. I will try to keep this site as current as possible, given work and other interest schedules. There are plans to add new photos as time and opportunity present themselves, new links as they become available and hopefully a local club or group to share all of this with. I would also like to add a local Cachers listing page, if  area Cachers will allow me to.

Here  is my reply to you sir
Bruce
Thank You for your opinion, you are certainly entitled to it, I would however like to explain to you and others why I posted the picture and statement on my webpage.
I live in the desert southwest, the high desert to be precise, Rattlers are a menace here. I was merely attempting to warn folks of the danger Rattlers present. The one in the photo nearly struck and bit a young girl of 4 years, who had no idea of the potential danger it posed. The one I refer to having run over was by accident, it was crossing one of the many dirt gas field roads I travel for my job, camouflage is one of the snakes assets and it blended in ssooooo well. As to my statement regarding the dead rattler, I just had one of my subordinates nearly bitten while trying to do his job. In our area rattlers commonly house themselves in a pump house we are required to service, try as we may we cannot keep them from entering, so I stick to my statement. The area we service is broad and remote to say the least, and I for one would prefer a dead rattler to a dead employee and friend.
If I have offended your sensibilities in any way, oh well. I hope you never have the misfortune to have one of these creatures you are apparently so fond of lie in wait for food and mistake your hand or foot for DINNER.
If you are referring to the Rattlers vermin population control potential, we also have another snake here called a bull snake, same coloring and all with one distinct difference, no venom. This snake does an excellent job at controlling the vermin to include another pest we have called a deer mouse (heard of HantaVirus?) they also find the pump houses a comfortable home, I will not kill a Bull snake under any circumstance other than accidently, as was the case above.
In closing allow me to again say Thank You for your deep concern for my well being, and the well being of all the other folks who enjoy or are required to work in the Rattlers domain!
