The Sacred Circle
The large stone altar near the center of the photo, covered by a flat slab of slate, faces to the East, on the circumference of the inner circle. Smaller altars mark the circumference of the outer circle at the compass points. A firepit is in the North. A hand-stacked wall of unmortared stone forms a wall around the entire area. Beyond the stone wall is a high drop-off. The shadow of the house's balcony can be seen in the South, at the lower right corner of the photo. Out of view is a jacuzzi spa. A sweat lodge is nearby.
