I discovered volleyball when I joined a YMCA league in the Spring of 2000, which was 4th grade. I LOVED it! That year, our navy blue team called ourselves the Navy Seals. We had a good team. And I found out that I might be pretty good at this! I signed up again in the Fall 2000, many of my 5th grade friends joined together to compete in the 5th/6th grade league. And again we were the Navy Seals. A color change in the Spring of 2001... Our jade green shirts inspired the name Jade Flame. By now I was in love with volleyball! Summer of 2001. What a great time!. My first experiences with serious volleyball camps. The first camp was in Lubbock, at Lubbock Christian University. The second was at the University of St. Thomas here in Houston.
