The
Official site for the Temple Hill Slope Squadron. Nestled in the hills of Pomona, California is the slope we like to call, "The Hill." Temple Hill is a west facing 600 foot slope that provides lots of nice lift for any type of slope soaring imaginable. The Temple Hill Slope Squadron is comprised of fun-loving people who are avid slope combat, racing, PSS (power slope scale), and scale pilots dedicated to the pursuit of big lift, big speed, and big enjoyment (not to mention big crashes and kills). This site is provided to give people information on the Temple Hill Slope Squadron and to educate and inform people interested in slope soaring. We hope to continually update it with current events and new information. Included are slope soaring tips, soaring and R/C definitions, photographs of slope soaring and our club members, a slope site database and reviews on a ton of different gliders. |

DIRECTIONS Temple Hill is located just east of the 57 Freeway between the 10 Freeway and the 60 Freeway. Exit the freeway at Temple Avenue and head east, keeping in the left lane. Turn left at the light at Mission Blvd/Diamond Bar Blvd, and get into the right lane. Turn right on Rancho Laguna Drive into the Mission Hills development; proceed up the hill and turn right on Alta Mira Place; turn left on Los Coyotes Drive. The street will curve and you will come to a stand of trees; park here and look to the left for the big green water tank; you will see a brick notch at the sidewalk. Now is time to put those new hiking boots to work! Walk to the fence and follow the trail up the hill, down the hill and up the next hill. The hike is relatively easy and should take only 10 minutes or so. Just be sure to carry everything on the first trip! ![]() |
