~ About the work performed for the titles on these pages ~

As you are aware, the credit roll at the end of every film or television production lists the full cast and crew responsible for its original creation. With all due respect to those people and their hard efforts, that list is almost always incomplete by the time it reaches your television screen. For each title that reaches your set in VHS, DVD or other video format there was another uncredited crew responsible for transferring the production to those mediums. It may be argued that post production credits are unnecessary or unwarranted because such work is not considered "creative", since it was not part of the original production. However, this is not always the case. Otherwise, directors and / or producers need never involve themselves with the telecine process, but they sometimes do.

Creativity also can play a role in the synchronization of existing soundtracks to film, specifically when certain passages are missing. When a studio does not have sources available to fill an audio "hole", they often will urge people like yours truly to, "Use your best judgement". This may involve "borrowing" a piece of music, sound effects or bits of dialog from another portion of the same film. It may also involve the hiring and recording of foley artists and / or actors (also uncredited) to re-create a missing passage. Whatever the case, value judgements must sometimes be made, especially if a director or producer is not available for instruction. Soundtrack synchronization is rarely a simple matter and many audio issues never even reach the attention of the studios, much less the public.  Above all, every effort is made to preserve and maintain the integrity of the original productions.

Post production audio tasks vary widely. (If you see a term that you don't recognize, click on it and you will be taken to a glossary.) My work on the titles listed here could involve anything from simple dubs and QC to evaluation / selection of best audio sources, transfers, laybacks, ADR, sweetening, surround sound mixing, synchronization of non-domestic soundtracks, conforming audio for airline versions, restorations, voiceovers, editing and mixing commentary tracks, to finishing and mastering for DVD. If you are curious about the task(s) I performed for a specific title, please feel free to write and ask.

Finally, you will see that most of the titles in this filmography have a line drawn under them. This means that they have links to a corresponding page in the Internet Movie Database (IMDB). When a title is not underlined it has not yet been released or it simply has no entry in the IMDB. Again, post production credits are rarely given. If they are given, they're usually attributed only to the firm(s) responsible for transfer to video, rather than to the individuals involved. Therefore you will not see my name anywhere in the IMDB. Perhaps someday this will change. Meanwhile, have fun with these lists and refresh your screen each time you come back. These pages are updated on a regular basis.
