Shrek 2 is an animated film comprised of characters from Grimm Fairy Tales, Poems, and other stories we enjoyed as children. They are now caricatures in this film of there former serious selves. But remain good characters. Since I did not see Shrek 1 I was a little lost at the beginning of this film. However, the story comes through rapidly and was enjoyable.

Shrek 2 is similar to Toy Story with a Fractured Fairy Tales (Remember the Bullwinkle Show aka Rocky and Bullwinkle) twist. It is well done with engaging Fairy Tale characters brought to life in a comedy about an ogre and his princess bride visiting the in-laws for the first time.

I give it 4 out of 5 Charmings:
