John F. Kennedy Jr.

Where was I when John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated? In high school. The exact class I can't remember. It was a tragedy. I was to learn later what a real tragedy it was. There was great concern about JFK during the election, a Roman Catholic, etc. Later the sad state of the country made me realize what a loss JFK's death was. We, as a nation, were united and thrilled with JFK's presidency. The presidency was never the same. The presidents since then have only divided and polarized the country.

Like the Star Wars saga, we knew "There was another!" A small boy we only knew as John-John was our hope for the future. We waited for him to grow up and take his right full place as the leader of the country. We only knew him through the public media, we liked him. He was making public moves a small step at a time. He had a sense of humor and a good presence. We knew that he would make the political move when he was ready and the country was in danger of becoming an Evil Empire. Sadly, now, the saga has ended!
