BRIGADE BOLSTERS UNION FORCES AT JACKSONVILLE, ILLINOIS
Brigade members turned out in force for the the annual "Grierson Days" reenactment held June 23-24, in Jacksonville, Illinois. Company G fielded the largest Federal infantry company present, and Company M's three guns and Company K's three Parrotts joined two Illinois guns in the Union battery.
In the best tradition of Maj. Calvin, during Sunday's battle reenacting the First Battle of Bull Run, Capt. Lee, Capt. Dunakey, and Capt. Baehr each turned command of their companies over to their seconds-in-command and fell in with the enlisted troops to avoid blame for the Union's humiliating defeat.

The Barleycorn Boys camped campaign-style.
