| Newest Motor Officer | 6/17/2008 | One of our newest Chapter members, Kevin Conger, Jr, has just completed the motor officers training course and is now certified to patrol on a motorcycle. Kevin is a Falmouth Police Officer and will share a motor with Tim Libby.
| | New Member | 5/16/2008 | Bill and Brenda Simmons from Berlin MD are the newest members of the chapter. Bill is a past president of MD-5. They summer in Maine and decided to join a Maine chapter.
| | 2008 Chapter Renews for its 33 year. | 2/2/2008 | The Chapter has renewed its charter with Blue Knights International with twenty-two members. Two 2007 members chose not to renew but two new members were recruited by Breen Savage and Tim Libby at the end of 2007. Kevin Conger, Sr, a retired Maine State Police Lieutenant and now working as a Lieutenant with the University of Southern Maine Police Department and Kevin Conger, Jr. a member of the Falmouth Police Department have joined the Chapter.
| | MAP Heroism Award to Tim Libby | 2/2/2008 | Chapter past president and founder Tim Libby and two other Falmouth Police Officers were recognized by the Maine Association of Police with the "Act of Heroism Award" at their annual banquet. These same officers will be recognized by the Maine Chiefs of Police with their "Act of Bravery by a Law Enforcement Officer Award" on February 8th. Tim and the other officers rescued an elderly lady from her burning home last March. Flames were coming out the windows and the side entrance. Knowing that the elderly lady was on oxygen, they entered the burning house and removed several large oxygen tanks. MAP recognized the officers for their professionalism and courage that prevented an explosion that could have injured or killed firefighters fighting the fire.
| | International's Third Chapter | 4/19/2006 | On March 1, 1975 Blue Knights International Chartered its third chapter, ME-II. The original founders were: Randolph E. Dunphe, S.Portland PD; William Dutcher, S.Portland PD; Timothy E. Libby, Falmouth PD; J. Henry Latumiere, Jr., Cumberland PD; William R. Walton, Jr., Portland PD; Brian D. Hanscom, Portland PD; David Eldridge, Portland PD; Michael Lemay, Portland PD; Richard Mank, Portland PD & George B Weir, Honorary. Of that group only Tim Libby is still a member and has continuously for 33 years. Also Charter members Louis Lemmings and Breen Savage are still active with the chapter.
