OK, so how do I get one?
Ordering a fly rod is easy, and probably
not as expensive as you might think! First, you should have some idea of how you like to fish and where. Next, either call
me or send me an E-mail. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
You can own a hand planed, split bamboo fly rod for as little as $495.00
for a ferruled, two piece, single tipped blank. You can finish this rod anyway you see fit.
Purchase a two piece, two tipped
rod for $895.00. If you're looking to save a little cash, let's build a two piece, single tipped rod for $785.00. All blanks
come with a rod sock and bamboo ferrule plug. All finished rods come with a rod sock, ferrule plug, brushed aluminum tube
and Garrison style reel seat. Rods are wrapped in Pearsall's Gossamer silk. Rods and blanks can be ordered blonde, which is
more or less the natural color of the bamboo, or flamed. Flamed rods seem to be a little quicker. If you are acustomed to
casting a graphite rod, a flamed rod might be easier to get used to.
All flamed rods will have their hardware, cap, ring,
grip check, stripping guide,and ferrules, blued. Flamed rods will have black guides and tip tops. The hardware on blonde rods
will be left bright.
There's Options?
Sure!
How about an agate or agateen stripping guide? How about upgrading the rod tube to an anodized bronze tube with a solid, machined
brass cap, collar, and bottom inscribed with the rod model, length, and line wieght? (see picture on first page) How about
a custom wood filler made by Craig Ott. Craig's fillers are made from impregnated burls such as Olive and Redwood, and though
they don't need it, Craig coats every filler with tung oil and buffs the filler out to a nice finish. As these are options,
please inquire at time of order for option prices.
When placing an order, there is a deposit of $250.00 required. This deposit
is refundable until your rod components are purchased. Once I place your component order your deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. You
can make payments on your rod as it is being constructed. Please make these arrangements at the time of your order. All prices
quoted DO NOT include shipping charges. These charges can be estimated prior to placing your order. Insurance is always recommended.
Current production time is 3 - 6 months. Rod orders must be paid in full prior to shipping. If you like, It would be my pleasure
to send you pictures of your rod as it is being made, by E-Mail.
