One Person Can Make a Difference, Refugees 1917 - 2002
Refugee Week is held throughout Australia in October each year. It serves to raise community awareness of the plight of refugees throughout the world and the contributions that refugees have and are making to the Australian way of life. AUSTCARE Exhibit at the Queensland Museum focused on the huge movement of refugees over the last 85 years and highlights people who have made a difference, such a Fridtjof Nansen, Alexandra Tolstoy, Sattareh Farman Farmaian, Graca Machel, Joice Nankivell Loch, Kim Phuc Phan, Meena and Paul Cullen.
