A Little Bit About Me

My name is Samantha, I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I am married and have two children.

From a very young age I was interested in cultures and languages different from my own. I loved to read everything on "exotic" places and the people that inhabited them!

The Maya was my first passion. Which led to Egypt and then farther east to Persia and India.

I first encountered Henna/Mehndi via Bollywood movies in 2001. Then at the Festival of India - Atlanta 2002, I had the pleasure of being hennaed by Anupam and Meera. (I return every year for more!)

Watching them apply a very simple design, I knew that I could do that too. I had "dabbled" in watercolors and pastels in the past.

I (not knowing better at the time, of course) purchased a "useless" henna kit that came with an instruction booklet. But I was hooked and knew there had to be a better way.

Fortunately for me there was the HennaPage.com. A website for learning how to use henna. I "learned" from experts and members from around the world. Such as "Master" Catherine Cartwright-Jones, Alissa Hall, Kim Brennan and Kiran Sahib.

It IS the most excellent web site for all things Henna!

I am Certified by the International Certification For Natural Henna Arts. (ICNHA.org)

I have been doing Henna Body Art a.k.a. Mehndi for more than 6 years. Mostly I do private appointments and parties but I have recently started doing Festivals.
