REVIEW BY TANGENT ONLINE MAGAZINE OF WITHOUT OMENS:

"Rob Shelsky takes us aboard a deep space exploratory vessel with a three-person crew sent to discover why the denizens of several different solar systems destroyed their entire planets with antimatter. Does the discovery of antimatter activate a suicide gene? Is God wiping the slate clean of dangerous organisms? We don't know for sure, but the story carries a profound sense of foreboding."

"...the message of the tale comes across clear as a bell. Shelsky... knows how to endow his stories with great feeling."

ADVANCE REVIEWS:

I loved the part in the book where Peter and Aurea get their first glimpse of each other in the gallery. It gave me chills as their two distinct worlds collided. I could imagine it so vividly.”

“Its romance at it’s best.”

“And I enjoyed the fact that the characters were described with such historical accuracy. Just by reading it I could see the 16th century - the fashion, the fervor of religious differences and the reign of Queen Elizabeth the first.”

“I’ll admit I love time travel romances and Lost Echoes did not disappoint.”

REVIEWED BY JANET DAVIES, FOR ONCE UPON A ROMANCE, http://www.onceuponaromance.net/LostEchoesReview.htm

“Lost Echoes is a star-stunning read. Take a wonderful journey into the lives of Peter and Aurea…”

“R. R. Shelsky has a winner in this fabulous tale filled with romance that touches the reader. With a well-crafted storyline and a wonderful plot, not only with the antique jewelry box, but the others who seek to treacherous dealings, this is one entertaining story.”

Rob Shelsky has written a wonderful love story. It fascinated me from the first page 'till the last. Travel along with Peter to England in the 16th century, and see if he can save his beloved Aurea…”

I'm pleased to recommend this tale to any romantic who enjoys a fun read. Time travel into one of the most interesting eras in history is a plus. Talented author R. R. Shelsky weaves the emotions and two disparate times into a story that will keep you reading. Enjoy.”

MYSTERYFICTION.NET

 http://www.mysteryfiction.net/reviews.html

A love story that transcends time itself.  A romance that battles with destiny.  Peter Vincent, a young stock broker, journeys into the past to  Elizabethan England.  There, he searches for the beautiful young woman, the tempestuous Aurea.  Finding her at last, he falls hopelessly in love, but is this to be an ill-fated romance?  History says that Aurea is soon to disappear, probably to be murdered.

Can Peter save his love from that fate?  Together, he and the green-eyed Aurea try their best.  They struggle amidst court intrigue and dark conspiracies, both caught up in a web of danger, deceit, and terrible lies.  They battle to survive in a dark place where traitors lurk in shadows, plotting to topple Good Queen Bess from the throne and replace her with the now-imprisoned Queen Mary of Scotland.  They must discover why Aurea is thrust into the middle of all this, and before it is too late.

Set against the sweeping backdrop of real events, plots, and characters of Elizabethan England, this story is a race against time itself.  Even as Elizabeth struggles to survive and stay on the throne, Aurea, with Peter's help, must fight to stay alive, and save her beloved aunt and uncle.  There are only days for the two lovers to accomplish their goal.  And yet, is there any chance they can change destiny, fight fate itself?  Is there any hope that such an impossible love as Aurea and Peter's can withstand the test of time?  Or are their hopes destined to be dashed and their love to fade down the centuries into nothing more than mere Lost Echoes?

Lost Echoes is due out in late 2006 with Awestruck E-books.

Letter From Continuum Online Magazine from Bill Rupp, Editor:

"Dear Robert,

I have read (at last) your story "The Dance of the Butterflies." I think
it's good and would like to publish it.

Regards,
Bill Rupp"
