"I had Bicycle Specialties in Toronto make the Chrome rack ( its a beautiful work) put on the Honjo Hammersmith fenders ( you will be able to see how Mike has built the rack as part of the rear fender in closeup photos) They painted a Zefel pump to match the bike ( a great little touch and no small feat to do). Added the Dynospin bottle generator ( very efficient unit - I certainly recommend it if you don't wish to go with a Schmitt hub). The bar brackets for the Arkel Bar bag ( Arkel makes awesome panniers and bike bags). I added the Xtr Crankset and the Brooks saddle - got a deal from a friend - he took the Surginos for his commuter bike. This finished product surpassed my expectations. When I got it home the weather was miserable ( and the roads are salted in winter here) and I had a flu bug - That's why I took the photos inside. When The weather is nice , I am on it , no time for photo sessions....I am 6'2" and about 185pds. The Romulus is the most comfortable bike I ever had - it takes my weight + camping gear on long treks very handily. Its also very fast and responsive for a tour bike - I've even had it out on 20 miles of atv. trails ...
Here's a pic of the XTR crankset on the RivRom. The Surginos was a good crankset but hey...vanity, thy name is bicycle. I also replaced the NOS clip pedals with eggbeaters - they work great and they look surprisingly good on the bike."
