Birds in Nature - images of wild birds by Richard Ditch

 

I see birds as part of nature, and want to photograph them as part of nature, and show them as part of nature. A bird removed from its natural environment is somehow incomplete and artificial in my view, so I try to show the habitat and environment that is so much a part of the evolution of that species.

All images on this web site are of free birds photographed in natural habitats as they were encountered in the wild. All images and text are copyright by the maker - any use by others is illegal without written permission of the owner.

Each image appears on a separate page, with a maximum dimension of 600 pixels and a file size of no more than 100 Kb. This is a compromise between showing each image in a large enough size and at a high enough quality to represent the original slide, while still permitting reasonable download times. No thumbnails have been provided to save space on the site and allow the maximum number of images to be shown. The site is updated frequently but irregularly, with space for new images requiring that older images be deleted to make room. Check back often to see new material.
