MOVEMENT FOR BELOVED COMMUNITY

Humanity is in a stage of profound crisis and global transformation.

Everyone has their reason for the crisis: for many it is because we are destroying the life support system of the Earth; for many it is the glaring and glowing gap between rich and poor; for many it is because of criminal behavior; for many it is all about economics; and for many it is because the breakdown of basic moral and spiritual values.

We take the view that all these are each interrelated and have a common cause--- we have met the enemy and it is us. Certainly this is not a new idea. The lack of spiritual awareness or self-knowledge is the root of our division and conflict inside ourselves as well as in familes, neighborhoods, villages, nations, and the world as a whole. We need greater consciousness and awareness of ourselves , and the inter-relation between ourselves and everyone else.

There are positive movements all over the world today. A grass-roots global network of villages and communites is developing. It is a natural and democratic antidote to the new "global economic order".

VISIONS: A NEW WORLD CIVILIZATION

A common and universal spirituality exists underneath the differences of religious dogma and belief. This underlying theme can serve as the basis for practical community building efforts--- a globe of villages. A global social movement is building.

NEW WORLD ORDER?

The Global Economic Order of Corporations and the idea of World Government are working together. Many are on the bandwagon to compete in the "global market"--- even those who working to create a new global civilization. Instead of expanding the failed nation state to the world level--- can we move in the other direction? Can we build a world civilization based on neighborhoods, villgaes, communities, and bioregions?
