Welcome to the online archive for paintings by Reuben Muñoz. Since he began painting full time in the summer of 2004, Reuben
has shown in several galleries and enjoyed seeing his work go into the homes of collectors. Each of his paintings is an exploration
of color and texture, with the aim of producing an emotional experience for the viewer. Inspired by the shapes and hues found
in the natural world, he enjoys juxtaposing these elements with those of man... in this world interesting faces coexist with
plantlife, nature and man share odd interactions and light and color come out to play in unusual ways.
Reuben Muñoz is an artist living in Long Beach, California. Until May 2004, when he underwent a quintuple bypass procedure,
he worked as an art director/illustrator for the Los Angeles Times. While recovering, he began painting, creating this body
of work. This newfound artistic endeavor took a pivotal turn when local gallery, Icaro, invited him to show five pieces as
part of a group show, ultimately selling all but one. Several other gallery shows have followed. Reuben has also completed
several commissions and is available for consultation on others. Newly available, most of the paintings featured here can
also be purchased as gicleé prints in limited editions and varying sizes, either on canvas or archival quality watercolor
paper. Send comments or learn more by contacting Reuben at the following:
