OVERVIEW

The Music Performance Fund (MPF) was established in 1948 as the Music Performance Trust Funds by the U.S. and Canadian Recording Industry and the American Federation of Musicians to provide funding for live, free, public musical performances. Every year, MPF-sponsored concerts and musical events in settings such as concert halls, parks, malls, schools, libraries, and hospitals bring the joy of live professionally played music to millions of people throughout the United States and Canada.

OUR MISSION IS:

- To support free, live performances by professional musicians as a public service to the people of the United States and Canada

- To contribute to the public's knowledge and appreciation of music

- To be a clear, strong voice for music and musicians as contributors to the quality of our daily lives

- To encourage and support the creation and performance of music by making live music a part of every child's school experience

- To provide support and encouragement for aspiring musicians and help young emerging artists find employment as performers

CO-SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

MPF co-sponsorships represent a uniquely effective and economical vehicle for corporate marketing and public relations. Co-sponsors enjoy the prestige of a long-established public-service organization and obtain the services of professional musicians at the lowest possible rates, while the Fund assumes the cost and responsibility for payroll and insurance. Virtually every co-sponsor dollar stays in the community because it is used to pay the performing musicians. And because music is at once the most public and the most intimate of the performing arts, sponsoring free music is a particularly effective way to enhance customer relations and build goodwill.

The roster of MPF co-sponsors is long and distinguished. It includes such diverse organizations as the Anheuser-Bush Companies, American Express, Bose Corporation, AT&T, Sony, the Archdiocese of Chicago, Harvard University, the Hard Rock Cafe, Hallmark Cards, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (presenter of the Grammy® Awards), Goodwill Industries, the U.S. Veterans Administration, the Smithsonian Institution, the Children's Creative Workshop, and thousands of local businesses, newspapers, radio stations, arts councils, parks departments, city, state, and provincial governments, and school districts.

If you would like to explore co-sponsorship opportunities for your organization, please call the AFM Local 151 MPF contact Nick Sabbatelli at 908-789-0109.
