In a Candlelight and blue aster setting, Miss Linda Kay McGill became the bride of David M. Wagner, Wednesday, July 30, (1969) at 7:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian church, Alva. The bride was the daughter of the late Gene and Vada (Paris) McGill, Alva. The bridegroom was the son of the late Anita (William) Wagner; the late Louis Wagner of Merced, Calif., and also brother of the late Joan (Wagner) Hodgden, Alva and brother and brother-in-law of Lou & Kay Wagner, Tallahassee, Florida.

Wedding selections were played by Miss Melissa Hodgden (married Eric Nuttall) and Susan Hodgden (married Jim Nance), organists and nieces of the bridegroom.

Dr. Marion Stuart, pastor of the church, read the double ring ceremony before an altar centered with a brass, arched candelabra holding tall white tapers and decorated at the base with a cluster of blue asters. Smaller candelabra flanked the side of the altar and were decorated similar. The bridal aisle was carpeted in white and led to a white satin prie-dieu. Pews were marked with single tall tapers decorated with blue asters.

THE BRIDE, escorted to the altar by her father, wore an A-line Chantilly lace and silk organza, floor length gown, styled with an empire waistline. The neckline and bodice were decorated with lace medallions and seed pearls. The long lace sleeves came to points over her hands. The hemline of the gown was edged with two rows of lace and the full length chapel train was edged with lace and seed pearls. Her double, bouffant, veil of illusion fell from organza petals and seed pearls. She carried a crescent cascade of white daisies and white stephanotis centered with a white Cattleya orchid. Her only jewelry was a diamond drop, a gift from the bridegroom.

MATRON of honor was Mrs. Steve (Judy Ruhl) Haldeman, Enid. She wore an antique blue, silk organza over satin A-line, floor-length gown styled on empire lines. The elbow-length sleeves ended in wide circular ruffles. She carried a colonial bouquet of white daisies backed with fern green chevronet and tied with satin streamers.

Bridesmaids were Connie Northern (Allen); Dorthy McGill and Amber McGill (Colon), sisters of the bride. They wore gowns styled as the matron of honor except in fern green and wore daisies in their hair. They carried colonial bouquets of white daisies, tied with satin ribbon and backed with blue chevronet.

Rene Northern, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. She wore a dress with a full, short skirt styled similar to the attendants and wore daisies in her hair. She scattered daisy petals along the bridal path.

Greg Northern, nephew of the bride, carried the rings on a white satin pillow. He wore a white dinner jacket and dark trousers and a blue carnation boutonniere.

STEPHEN Hansen, Alva, served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Steve Haldman, Enid; Dennis O'Rear, Chicasha; and Wayne Fulton, Enid. The bridgroom and his attendants wore white dinner jackets and darktrousers and blue carnation boutonnieres. The groomsmen also served as ushers.

For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Vada McGill chose a yellow ensemble of silk shantung and alencon lace. She wore matching accessories. Mrs. Anita Wagner, mother of the bridegroom, chose a white A-line dress with white accessories and a white nylon ruffled hat. Both mothers wore Japhet orchid corsages.

Imediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. The bride's table was covered with white lace with a flounce to the floor and edged with garlands of greenery. The table was centered with a three tiered wedding cake decorated with swans and cornucopias filled with clusters of blue roses and topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom standing under an arch. Clear punch was served from a crystal bowl.

THOSE assisting at the table were Mrs. Bill Arganbright, Mrs. Bill Tiberghien and Beth Hodgden (married Larry Leslie), niece of the bridegroom.

Miss Marge Kleins of Peachbottom, PA., kept the guestbook.

The couple left for a short wedding trip in Oklahoma. For travel the bride chose a striped coat and beige dress ensembe and wore a white Cattelya orchid corsage lifted from her bridal bouquet.

The couple made their first home at 912 Ninth St., her in Alva where both attended Northwestern State College.

Out of town relatives at the wedding included the above mentioned and Major Louis Wagner, brother of the bridegroom and two daughters, Donna and Theresa., Amy Hodgden, niece of the bridegroom; Gary Northern; aunts and uncles of the bride.
