The web
site for Olsen's is currently on the move. Of course, the actual
store is still at the same old place in Ballard, not far from the fishing
harbor of Seattle. You will often hear Norwegian spoken in the store.
Anita and Reidun Endresen still work at the store after more than
twenty-five years. The store itself was started in 1960 by another
Norwegian named Einar Johnsen. Einar has moved
back to Norway. The Endresens still sell the same collection of foods
from Scandinavia. Many of the foods are made according to old recipes
that have been passed down over the years. Anita's son, Kevin, is taking
a very active part in the store and often is involved in the kitchen. Kevin's
wife, Cristin, spends most of her time assisting customers and packing goods
to be sent all over the world thanks to the great response of those shopping
at the Olsen's Scandinavian Foods web site. Here you can order most
of the items sold in the store including fish, meat, candies, breads, a wide
assortment of canned goods and gifts imported directly from Norway, Sweden,
Denmark and other parts of Scandinavia. Be sure to watch the online
store for special sales of unique foods and gifts that will be delivered directly
to your address.
