Honalee Mastiffs

CH.Pendragon Puff of Honalee

I grew up reading Albert Peyson Terhune's accounts of his marvelous collies. Showing dogs was a childhood dream. A loving St. Bernard named Fluffy helped us raise our three children. Big dogs were always part of our lives. When Fluffy was older, we got her a canine pal--a Newfoundland named Sam. Ivanhoe was our first Mastiff. He introduced us to the special, nearly-human personality of this remarkable breed. He and his son, Brutus, will live in our hearts forever. When Brutus passed, our home was empty. For the first time in 17 years, there was no Mastiff. Finally, Donna Bahlman took pity on us and allowed us to share ownership of her 5 month old brindle boy, Ben. The following year, we added Lucy and then came Puff. We showed Ben a few times as a puppy, but his heart (and our knees) were not in it. When we got our futurity-nominated puppy, Puff, we became more serious about showing. We also retired and had more time to spend showing. Now we would like to follow another part of the childhood dream: puppies.
