1st. Lieutenant Alson C. Dilley

Alson C. Dilley was the 6th child of Patrick Dilley and Lidia Collins born in 1840 (exact date not known) in Howland, Ohio.   During the fight in Dyer's Field at Chickamaga, Sgt. Dilley took command of the company when Lieutenant King fell dead. In early 1864, he was promoted to 2nd Lietenant and later, on May 9, 1864, to 1st Lietenant. He was killed at Kennesaw Mt, Ga on June 27, 1864 and is buried in the Marietta National Military Cemetary, Marietta, GA.
