Nappy's Puppets is dedicated to producing quality shadow theater performances that entertain and educate audiences about the
range and scope of puppetry as an art form. This is accomplished in two ways:
Performances: Nappy's Puppets creates live theater that is engaging and demonstrates the importance of audience etiquite and
participation. The Material presented is derived from children's literature, traditional and modern music, and folk tales
from around the world. Curricular tie-ins include storytelling, world cultures, history, creative writing and the performing
arts.
|
Workshops are designed to empower children to become puppeteers and enhance self worth. A variety of workshops are available
to participants ages five and up. Participants are instructed in the basic skills of puppets construction and performance,
but they are also given the knowledge to experiment with different materials and styles. Participants are encouraged to continue
their creative journey beyond the workshop. Curricular tie-ins include creative writting, conflict and resolution and the
development of creative and oral expression.

"Jim is one of the most genuine, relaxed, funny and generous performers around.Jim presents his work to
the audience with what might be best described as the "Slash and Burn" approach to puppetry. This is not to suggest that
Jim is a careless performer. Quite the contrary: he brings to each performance a certain enthusiasm and just the right degree
and finish as the piece requires. No one goes away disappointed. Happily, Jim has a good time too."
