Greek Language and Linguistics

Besides my teaching and research work, what occupies most of my professional time is the Greek Language and Linguistics Gateway, a site that receives well over 1000 visits per day.

The Gateway was originally hosted at this location, but in early 1999 it was moved to http://greek-language.com.

Southerners Drumline Once upon a time I was a member of the Jax State "Marching Southerners" Drumline. Look to the right to hear some samples of recent performances.

Currently, I sing and do some keyboard work for Iglesia Unida, a Spanish-language Church in Chapel Hill, NC.

My real athletic passion is soccer. The image to the right is a shot of my 2004 team in the North Carolina State Challenge Cup semifinal match (in white). We won, went on to the final, and won the state championship.

In the photograph (from left to right) Lance, Benji, and (far right) Joshua close on an opposing attacker with the ball, while Dillan and Trent (background) sprint to cut off his angle to goal. One step after this instant, Benji went down for a textbook-perfect slide tackle, stripping the attacker of the ball, sprang up, and turned upfield as the team mounted a counterattack.
