The
Evil of Frankenstein (April 1964)
Starring Cushing. Sequel to Revenge of Frankenstein from
fully six years earlier, though conspicuous
for its lack of continuity with that picture. Also of note is that there
is a longer version for television in existence, padded with new scenes
shot later, featuring actors not seen elsewhere in the film.
"...Peter was an extremely good actor. He adapts his talents to
suit the genre. Quite honestly, most horror scripts are rubbish, but Peter
can make you believe every word he says...." – Freddie Francis,
director

The
Gorgon (October 18, 1964)
Starring Cushing. Another Hammer gothic horror (surprise!), though a bit
off-beat in its use of a monster from mythology rather than literature
or classic films. It's another assured portrayal from Cushing, with a bonus
cameo from Christopher Lee, to boot.
"...I played an evil man, although to be fair, even this character
had a secret reason for behaving as he did." – Peter Cushing
