Jacks Or Better Premiered at the Dances With Films Festival, June 25th, 2000  at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatres on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, California.  Called "The defiant fest of raw talent" by The Hollywood Reporter, Dances With Films is an excellent festival for first time filmmakers.  With over 900 films submitted in 2000, and 12 features in competition, it was a great honor to win one of only three awards given.

From DWF, we were invited to the Riverrun International Film Festival  in Brevard, NC.  This tiny mountain town is the perfect place for an old-fashioned film festival.  Walking along the main street with fellow filmmakers, we all agreed that this must have been what Sundance felt like before all of the hype.  Any filmmakers and distributors looking to get away from it all, should check out the Blue Ridge Mountain retreat.  After the movies, make sure you see the falls.

We weren't in competition at the Hawaii International Film Festival -- but who cares?  It's Hawaii!  Surfing, Scuba Diving, and hanging out with the Bay Watch Hawaii cast & crew made for a nice break between films.  Having Roger Ebert take special time out from his Hitchcock seminar to come to our film was also a trill, but we have no idea what he thought about the movie, since he "never tells."

Future plans for Jacks Or Better screenings are in the works, as we pursue distribution.  Meanwhile, Robert and Hilton are working on new projects -- so keep an eye out.
