Ladies and Gentlemen, take small children by the hand..... Here come the Cowtippers!

Tippers Picture
Cowtippers in Athol MA 2004

The Cowtippers have a fresh approach to Traditional Bluegrass, Country, and Gospel music, which they perform in an energetic and amusing way. Their arrangements are interesting, and often surprising, and their three-part harmonies soar.

Drawing material from sources as varied as Seldom Scene, Dwight Yoakum, Dr. Ralph Stanley, and Flatt & Scruggs, as well as Gospel favorites from the Baptist Hymnal, they have something for everyone. The personnel are...Lead vocal and Guitar, Mike Robinson... lead/baritone vocals, mandolin, banjo, and guitar, Charlie Rees...on high tenor vocal and playing Bass (guitar, not the fish) is Rick Ottman, who also plays a mean keyboard but “That ain’t no part of bluegrass boy”.

Past festival performances include Sterling Park Bluegrass Festival in Sterling, CT., Pemi Valley Bluegrass Festival in Campton, NH as well as Jenny Brook Bluegrass Festival in Weston, VT. They have been featured on cable access Television in many New England markets including Wakefield and Belchertown, MA and Hampstead, NH. They have been featured at the Country Corner Coffeehouse in MA and The Vanilla Bean in CT.  Generally the band plays at venues located near large herds of sleeping bovine, after all, they're "Cowtippers".
