I don't normally quote scripture
since I am not a very religious man. But these words best sum up what it means to be a member of our armed services organizations.
The brave and loyal men and women of the Army, Navy, Air force and Marines are willing to do what these words say - lay down
their lives.
They are willing to die
for their fellow Americans so they can continue to live in freedom and peace here at home.
Who among us are willing to
do that? Maybe for our loved ones but certainly not for strangers. But they are willing to do it.
So in order to honor such
courage and loyalty we must always be willing to give them the support that they deserve.
We must see to it that they
have the best training and the best equipment to fight the good fight anywhere in the world.
And when they come home -
battered and torn - we must be ready to heal their wounds and to provide a good education and a good job for them all.
We must build new hospitals
and rehabilitation facilities to give them the chance at a good life just like they gave us.
They should always be first
in line for everything this great nation has to offer.
And we should always show
them how grateful we are for what they are willing to do for us.
We owe them our freedom, our
country and our lives.
Let’s make sure we do
the right thing by them.
