We are the most generous nation in the world.
No other country in the history of the world is more
generous than America. We send our sons and daughters to liberate people all over the world who
desire to live in freedom in a democratic society. We send billions of dollars over seas to help nations fight poverty, disease
and to improve their ability to feed themselves and provide a good life to their people. The list of thing we do for other
nations is practically endless.
Yes, we should continue to do this. What would the world
be like without the help of the kindliest of all people - the Americans? But we need to weigh our need to help other nations
with our need to help our own citizens.
And Americans should come first!
Let's take at least 10 percent of our current foreign
aid budget and put it back into America.
Let's help the people here who need our help most.
There are diseases we need to find cures for and new
medical treatments and technologies to invent that will make our lives better. There is a growing group of aging Americans
who need to be cared for in the manner in which they cared for us when we were young.
There are disabled patriots who need special assistance
for living a good life, including access to training and job opportunities.
Out schools should be the best in the world not the worst.
We need to pay teachers, policemen and firemen better wages for the sacrifices and important work they do for our country.
And we need to give them the proper equipment and facilities to do that good work.
We need a national insurance program to insure all Americans
even if they do not have a job. We need to make sure drugs and treatments are available to whom ever may need them but can’t
afford them.
We need to provide energy subsidies for those who are
on fixed incomes and who may not be able to keep their homes warm in winter or their cars running.
We need to reduce property taxes for the elderly.
We need to do many more things like these to insure
that our fellow Americans are taken care of first before we care for the other peoples of the world.
