Welcome to the

Basic Goat Primer!

GOATS!!!

Goats!!! When you see or hear of goats, what is your first thought?    Despite common misunderstandings, goats will not eat garbage.  On the contrary, goats are very clean animals who are also very careful eaters.  Let's learn how dairy goats help our environment, are good for our health, and are good pets!

More world citizens consume products from goats than from cows. Why? For one reason, there are more goats than cows in mountainous countries since goats can survive well by eating grass and other brush. This is an especially important factor since there may be insufficient grain resources in these countries to support dairy cattle. Therefore, dairy goats are very important to the residents of these countries. Dairy goats can also eat regular grains.

You are visitor since April 4, 1999 to visit the Basic Goat Primer.
