Communication Technology and Community Program
This program, directed by Sandra
Ball-Rokeach, focuses on the metamorphosis of community ties in the 21st
century. A massive study of urban neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles is the backbone of this program,
and has produced numerous publications and professional presentations. To date
my role has included reporting data regarding the way older and younger people
differ in their Internet connections, a case study of two LA radio stations’
attempts to serve their community, and assisting in the preparation of a survey
of Glendale to apply the CTC’s methods to a new study area. Check out http://www.metamorph.org/.
Institute for Global Ethics
The Institute for Global Ethics,
based in Camden, Maine, is devoted to the study of ethical
decision-making, and to training business and political leaders in the practice
of ethics. My work with the Institute has included studies of the faculty,
staff, and students of community college systems in Arizona
and Illinois,
and the environmental attitudes of college students. Check them out at http://www.globalethics.org.
