Once in a forest where many strange events occurred and many great stories were told, an elm tree and a maple tree fell in love. Their seedlings grew into beautiful elmaple trees. This is just one of their tales:

Long ago some elmaple trees were short and wide, while others were tall and skinny. Most had leaves with two or three points and a curved bottom, but the elmaple tree called LiLi (lee-lee) grew leaves that had a pointed bottom and two curves at the top. She was neither short and wide nor tall and skinny but somewhere in between.
