Charles G. Girardeau enlisted as a private on May 21, 1861. He was wounded in 1861, and was discharged on account of wounds Jan. 4, 1862. He then enlisted as a private in Co. B, 20th Battn. Ga. Cavalry on June 13, 1862. He was captured at Old Church, Va. May 30, 1864. Charles died of fever at Elmira, N.Y. Feb. 22, 1865.
