1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and pepper flakes and cook 2 minutes, tossing often. Stir in the tomatoes, basil, oregano, and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook, stirring often, for 15 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, bring a large stockpot of water to a boil. Drop in the linguine and cook until al dente. Taste a piece to avoid overcooking.
3. Add the artichokes and their marinade to the sauce. Stir in the parsley. Simmer about 5 minutes.
4. Drain the linguine and place it in a large bowl or return it to the pot. Toss with the sauce. Serve sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
