L&I Hurts Workers

These crimes are all to common an occurrence against Injured Workers.

There is a letter on this site, from the Governors Office that states that they will not aide in exposing the crimes of the Washington State Dept. of L&I. They have admitted, verbally, that with-in the State, the Governor is the only "Authority" to dictate to the Dept. of L&I. This is why they do what they want and no one seems to be able to stop them. They seem to even dictate to the Governors Office. They oversee Employment with-in the State. Are not the Governor and his cabinet Employees of the State?

We have asked our State Legislatures to look into conducting a Congressional Hearing against the Dept. of L&I. We suggest that you do the same of yours, with your name included as a Member of Citizens Representing Citizens. To be a member you must be desirous to end the corruption of the Wa. St. Dept. of L&I.

Good luck in your cause,

E-MAIL SENT TO GOV. GARY LOCKE, 09/06/2003

Governor Locke,

The economy cannot tolerate another "bang" to the wallet of the citizens or employers of this State.

The proposed rate hike increase is another attempt by the Dept. of L&I to white wash the truth of what has occurred and cover the facts. The Dept. of L&I has illegitimately allowed favored employers to not pay into the accident fund, thereby causing shortages. As far as claiming that costs are rising, yes, that is the economical spiral of life, yet it is interesting to note that on the web pages of the Dept. of L&I itself it can be found that in the year 1998 the average accepted claim in the state cost $5,485.62, in the year 2001 the average cost of an accepted claim cost $4,270.56, that means that the Dept. of L&I is stating an average claim cost REDUCTION of $1,215.06. That is clearly not an increase in administrative or medical.

Please stop the Dept. of L&I from continuing to lie cheat and steal from the State of Washington.

Below is the response from Gov. Lockes Office. They saw fit to send the E-Mail to the Dept. of L&I, who in turn sent this response found below:

The Department of Labor and Industries has received a copy of the e-mail you submitted to Governor Locke's office regarding the 2004 proposed rate increase of 19.4%. I have been asked to respond to you directly. We appreciate your comments on the proposal to increase our workers' compensation rates. Your comments will be reviewed and considered in accordance with the rulemaking procedures of the Administrative Procedure Act.

Once the proposed rules have been filed with the Code Reviser's Office you will have the opportunity to provide oral and written comments. Please check the L&I Laws and Rules website for updates with the rulemaking process. The website address is http://www.lni.wa.gov/news/2003/pr030903a.htm

Again, thank you for your comments.
