This is "Scout."
She is a 6 year old burro adopted through the BLM wild horse and burro program.  Click here to go to their site.

Check back here occasionally to see how she is progressing.

July 29th.  We adopted Scout on July 28.  She is still very timid.  No problems getting her home, she came off the trailer quietly and seems comfortable in her new home.  The horses are learning to accept her.  We think she might be pregnant.  She is extremely cute, her ears are adorable.  Eventually we hope the kids will be able to ride her.

February 10.  Lots of news!  Scout gave birth to a colt on Thanksgiving day.  We named the little guy "Tom," of course.  To see pictures of Tom,   click here

We are working hard at taming Scout and Tom.  Tom is wearing a halter now, and got his first shots this week.  Scout is proving to be difficult to tame, but we are hoping that once Tom is weaned she might become more friendly.

May 21.  Tom was gelded yesterday and received his booster shots.  He will come to us for grass.  We will be weaning him as soon as he recovers from his surgery.  He is still quite wooly.  We still can't handle Scout very easily, but she is making progress.

April 2003 - Tommy is living with the other animals and is a friendly little guy.  Scout is still not tame, she may never be completely tame.  We are working with Tommy all the time.

April 2007 - Lots of updates!  Scout is now tame enough to catch in her paddock.  She will stand to have her feet trimmed with a tranquilizer, and no longer needs to be knocked out to have her feet done.  She will take treats by hand and loves visitors, as she knows they bring her tasty things to eat.  Here are some more recent pictures:
