Since
I was little, I've never wanted to be anything but an artist.* I studied
at the Art Institute of Chicago through high school, started college at
the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, and earned a B.A. from the University
of Minnesota. I am all-but-dissertation a masters in museology. I've worked
as a graphic artist, proofreader, typesetter, museum docent, office lackey,
in communications and Web maintenance. I've been fortunate enough to live
and travel all over, have raised lovely and talented twin daughters,
and have been married to Philip
lo these 30 years.
I am recovering from spending the last ten years in the corporate world.
Althea Peregrine is my alter ego. I go through periods of serious introversion
and count on Althea, a pushy broad, to be my public persona.
*Actually, there were
a few years in the late sixties when I wanted to be a rock star . . .
never came to anything.
