Water your plant completely. Let it drain. After it has
drained pick it up and feel the weight. Test the weight again the next day and so forth . You will develope the feel
for the lightness of the pot as it drys. Develope a relationship with your plants. How do they look? Are they robust and juicy
looking , how do they feel to the touch? You can tell a lot about the condition of plants bysight and touch. Look
at the potting material. If a plant has become too dry, the potting material may have a tendency to shrink and pull away from
the sides of the pot. When you water this plant the water may just run down the sides and out the bottom and the plant will
get partially watered, which causes a root- rot. In this case you should water several times to re-soak the potting mix.
If you use a soaking technic don't let your plants to sit
in the water forever. Plants are thoroughly watered when there are no more air bubbles comming up.
