I first wrote the paper that became this website as a part of my graduate program in the Fall of 2002 while attending the Swinburne Institute of Technology's Center for Astrophysics and Super Computing. I expanded the original paper and made it somewhat more web friendly. The information in the Website will be expanded as time permits.
Since any telescope is always a work in progress, more information will be added to all categories, especially the auxiliary equipment and the Astrophotography sections. More information also needs to be added to telescope musings. As it is now the Optical Telescopes section is only a rough overview of telescope designs. I have also found some original drawing of the telescope and some of my grinding log. These drawings should be added to the 22" design sections and mirror sections for completeness.
<>I hope that you enjoy the site.Added some info about making my 7" refractor,
including a German Equatorial mount.
