Well now, the following before pictures will tell the story more vividly that I ever could. This area of
the trailer required a huge amount of TLC. Each external wall as well as some of the bed supports needed replacement
from water damage. This is where we discovered the water tank had developed a pin hole over the years & needed replacing
as did the pump. The original hot water heater however was perfectly fine! The mattresses while sound & sporting
their original Silver Streak lables, needed patching & cleaning. This was the largest area to be stripped
of at least 2 layers of varnish, sanded & refinished. The headboards, they spoke (screamed, really) for themselves.

This is a bad picture but shows an example of the water damage to both bedroom exterior walls.
Stripping the wall revealed several support 1" X 2" peices that would also need to be replaced due to water
damage & rot.

June 27th, the new wall is in place to be followed by the opposite side a few days later.

The new pump & water tank is installed. As are new bed support pieces.

Woodwork refinishing begins in ernest in July.
One really should be forewarned by a description on the Citristrip lable describing the handling of "sludge",
yuck!
Another side note: Citristrip & Varathan prefer to be used in temperatures below 80 degrees. We live
in the Central Valley of California, this means that to tackle this project in July required varnishing to take place often
at midnight & again before 8 AM.
The days of sludge, sanding & sweat have paid off big time!
In August the interior woodwork is finished, the cabinet doors & drawers reinstalled.

Of course I had to recover the headboards in more appropriate vintage Chenille from a beat up old beadspread,
a yard sale find.

Another vintage bedspread that had been in the family many years inspired the decor of the bedroom:
Window valances made out of old blue jeans of mine & my husbands with some bandana fabric & white
roller blinds trimmed with the chenille bedspread edging tops off the effect.
This bedspread was purchased close to 40 years ago for my brother in law by his grandmother.
A great find on ebay ... a spread to nearly match the other!
