Around The League Fans Are Speaking Out

Fans feel some black athletes are getting slighted in the press.  Let's start in New York with the Jets, they bring in a rookie quarterback, pay him tons of money, he has never proven anything while the proven offensive threat RB Thomas Jones has to beg for scraps....what?  The Jets basically wasted money on Bret Farve, who just quit on the team, and now is being sheltered by the main stream media, as he underminds yet another quarterbacks job, for his own personal interest "revenge" (Self interest!)

...

Kyle Orton, derek Anderson, Joey Harrington, Chris Simms, Brady Quinn, Josh cCown, Jay Cutler, and many more white quarterbacks just to name a few, all blown up in the draft over ehe years by the media to get big bucks, but what have any of them done better than Tarvaris Jackson in Minnesota or Jason Campbell in Washington?  Yet you don't hear the media trying to undermine these guys jobs the same say. Why?

Sixers Hire Eddie Jordan As New Head Coach

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia 76ers on Friday hired Eddie Jordan to be the 22nd head coach in franchise history.  Per club policy, terms of the deal were not announced.

The 54-year-old Jordan takes over for Tony DiLeo, who served as the interim coach when Maurice Cheeks was fired after a 9-14 start to this past season.  DiLeo finished the year at 32-27, guiding the Sixers to their first non-losing season since 2004-05, and a second consecutive playoff berth where they were eliminated in a six-game first-round series by the Orlando Magic.  Jordan last coached in the NBA with the Washington Wizards before being fired last November during his sixth season with the club.  He owns a areer record of 230-288 as a coach for Sacramento and Washington.  He was also the lead assistant coach for New Jersey during its two Eastern Conference championships in 2002 and 2003.

Fever Perfect In Preseason Action With A 3-0 Record

Fever vs ShockThe Indiana Fever are perfect in preseason action, and plan on being in the finals this season, as they close out their preseason action with a 67-60 win over the Silver Stars.  They defeated Minnesota Lynx 68-51 in their first action of the new preseason.  Katie Douglas scored 19 points to lead Indiana in theat victory. The Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 74-67 for their second win.

But while most fans or teams put little focus on preseason play.  I think in womens basketball that a mistake.  You cannot win a champioship with one one player on your team thing any game is not important.  It's a short season and the stronger your focus is from the start, the better off your team will be down the stretch.

Indiana had 3 players in double figures on Tuesday Catchings 16, Douglass 10, January had 12 points, and Tammy Sutton-Brown pumped in 8 points in the paint. Solid game.  Stronger aggresive play on both ends of the court will determine is this is the team that can finally bring a championship home to Indiana.

Keys to success will be Dunn's teams mental approach to the  game.  Will they stand-up to Detroit, or will they over pass the ball again without attacking with their shot and mind.  Instead of showing teams "Detroit" you aren't scared of them, then lose your poise after a hard foul and start playing wild, think, size up their defense, find the weakness, exploit match ups, put their key players in early fould trouble always.  Detroit plays physical because their big players can't run or shoot.  They foul hard when they can't keep up, don't stop making them work hard on defense...run them hard in the first half, they will fade in the second half.
