We get a load of email asking for advice for answers to a wide variety
of topics.
We've chosen the most serious ones for your consideration.

Dear Hannibal,
I hope it's okay to personally email you. I've been contemplating becoming more
serious in studying the Paranormal. My family will go ballistic knowing I want to pursue this avenue, as they consider
all things paranormal as evil. Also, I do have a real fear of having something follow me home after an investigation.
There is a local 'ghost hunting' class in my area I would like to join but I have a few questions first. Am I worrying
over nothing?
1. What are your thoughts/feelings of learning about the paranormal from non-Christian
Religions? How shall I participate when they call upon their gods/goddesses for guidance at investigations?
2. How can I avoid having something attach itself to me or follow me home?
I feel extremely comfortable in reading your website on this subject because
you stand in the 'Lord's Word' as you study and work in this field. Are these legit questions to ask before I go ahead
with this?
Regards, Angela
My response....
Angela,
First, I am humbled that you look up to us the way you do, we silently
cherish the compliments you made. There are times we doubt that we are reaching anyone at all, or helping
in some way, and then we get an email like yours, and through your words, our hearts are eased.
It is a lonely process of learning, absorbing, gathering information, etc...but to know that there are others that are seeking
the same quest, or the same understanding is a sweet inspiration to what I've been striving to find for over 40 years now.
I can only offer this advice from my own experiences/failures/ research/studies,
but most of all what is laid on the heart and spirit of my inner self as to what feels right and what feels wrong. It
is not the same for all as there are those that 'follow the beat of a different drummer' and like their own music; their own
form of worship that works for them. Most all my advice/feelings are linked to the Bible manuscripts and although
I have read the works of numerous other religions and texts to get a grander feel of the Creator, the Bible is the root of
all religions.
I am not a church goer...I do not believe in detaching myself to one religion or
a named group. We do need fellowship though, it is needed to keep us strong and we need each other to get through this
journey. I'm actually pondering starting an on line fellowship and possible local meeting group for others who
have a majority of reasons why they don't or won't attend a local church. Whether it be due to lack of confidence in
their appearance (as myself), unsociable (like myself again) afraid of being ridiculed, or typecast or outcast, or not feeling
worthy, or having other so called Christians look down on them because they aren't dressed properly for worship service, etc...there
are a thousand reasons people do not attend a church but long for the fellowship.
Anyway, I will try and give some valuable structure to some of your questions,
please accept what you feel is in your heart, let it be your guide as well as the holy spirit that resides in us all.
Ask for guidance in all you do and decide.
1)working with non-Christians who may be calling
on their gods/goddesses for guidance to investigate.
I personally would never work as a professional investigator with anyone who prays
to a foreign god other then the one mentioned in the Bible. We must remember that Satan sends angels too....and worshiping
false gods, idols, goddesses does not mesh with my own personal beliefs. I am not criticizing, nor passing judgement,
not complaining...just explaining. You cannot worship two masters.... I can't say I wouldn't 'go along' with them
though to see how they operate, but I would not join in with their prayers and silently keep my reserve to my own god for
protection. (What's the old adage, 'opinions are like booty holes...everyone has one'...smile...and everyone has the
right to worship who and what they want to, and i respect that highly, and before we get a ton of hate mail over this, for
all the alternate religions out there...put your shoe on the other foot...you who bow to goddesses and other gods would not
join in when we say our Christian prayers...so....we don't always have to see eye to eye but we can still walk hand in
hand. )
First and foremost...never fear!!!! If you fear, have fear, you are emitting negative energy
and the negative forces feed off that, they recognize it and pounce...there can be no room for doubt or weakness. If
you go, you go clean, you go bravely, like you have a thousand angels around you, and in essence you will.
2) Fearing that something might follow me/attach itself
to me,
Always, ALWAYS, ask for protection from the Lord, the Father, before you enter
a domain of investigation. (I've chosen the one from the Bible because He has a history of kicking some serious butt
and protecting those who call upon Him.) And before you leave always say out loud that nothing is allowed to follow
you and that it stay where its at, there is has no invitation to follow you home. If you have gone to dispel a
entity then you must command it to leave and return from whence it came and never to return again. We are also told
'do not tempt the Lord thy God', so some, well many Christians actually, feel that investigators are asking for trouble by
keeping company with the spirits, and in many instances they are, and have no business doing what they are doing...it's tempting
the negative energies, it's playing and toying with a force that has not yet been understood fully, like messing with a Ouija
board, investigators open themselves up to all types of avenues of communication from the other side. Most do not go
into or onto a property with the same reserve as our group does, we go to try and help, understand, get information from the
entity itself. We are confident and faithful in our protection and if something does not feel right we leave immediately...no
if ands or butts...we are not 'stupid or seek sensationalism'. We also always use olive oil, a small amount from a fingertip
on our foreheads before and after we investigate. If I don't feel 'called' to serve the individual asking for an investigation,
I don't go. We do not do any of this with the out coming thrill of catching something on film, camera or tape recorder.
Each trip is like going into enemy territory and we are full aware of the consequences. Every investigation group, whether
famous or not, cannot or should never think they are superior to what lies on the other side. We are the ones that play
with gadgets of communications, and are actually in a 'stone-age' type of technology when it comes to reaching for answers
on this subject. Man is so vain and through the centuries have proven this fact over and over again when it comes to
modern thought-technology-science, etc...even when we purchase a computer with all the bells and whistles within 2 months
of our purchase our computer becomes a dinosaur compared to what advances there are made in just the 2 months of industrial
creation. In just 2 months time all our software, gigabites, etc...become a fancy passing phase because something else
had been created to replace or better the previous. And so it is with dealing with the paranormal...but in a slower
means of discovery. No one has all the answers, no one has all the correct applications of investigative techniques.
We learn as we go. But the bottom line is to follow your inner instincts....that is your link to the Father. And
I'll be the first one to admit that He may have a few good butt whippings waiting for me when I reach the other side
for tempting fate and going to places I shouldn't have or pushing the limits on certain scenarios.
Am I worrying over nothing?
No, you have very valid 'worries', all worth merit in asking, all worth mulling
over and searching your inner being for a peaceful resolution.
Are these legit questions I need to ask myself before going
ahead with this?
Yes, and you need to ask yourself a few more....mostly, what is it that I wish to
accomplish by doing this? Is it for my own personal learning and understanding (as myself)? Is it to witness a
paranormal phenomenon? (This is always exciting and a sometimes welcome revelation in itself when they do happen, but it should
never be the one reason for going. Capturing evidence especially on camera is a wonderful tool and aid to the ultimate answers
to all the questions.) Do I really just want to find out where it is I'm going after I leave this body? (My most important
quest.)
And to touch upon your family's worry....all through the bible you will discover
those who sequestered information from the dead and departed, read thrown stones, soothsayers that predicted outcomes of wars
and situations, etc...but...these were done by 'called ones, chosen ones, the sensitives'....doing this, or going down this
avenue of your own choice is often dangerous, just as an old woman would never ride a rodeo bull and shouldn't so it is with
this decision. Are you being called to understand more? Do you feel a need, a burning urge to know more then there
is? Do you feel you are capable of having a strong enough faith to travel down this new road? Are you ready to
be a witness, or participate in these type of field trips?
Bottom line....if you consider yourself a Christian then go with a Christian heart,
Christian faith, and the inner drive of trying to understand what it is you are seeking. Don't go for the thrill and
chills, the giggles and screams. Go for your own silent testimonies of satisfaction.
I pray this helps in some way, and please, do not feel you are bothering us
in the least with any or all questions. I always ask for guidance when replying to those that seek, because in this
vast universe, you were led here for answers. Like energy attracts like energy.
Blessings,
Hannibal
