Some noteworthy ghostly affairs of the heart…
It is said that the ghost of King Charles II roams
the Drury Lane Theatre in London, which was built in 1663 looking for his lost mistress.
He had a long love affair with a Nell Gwynn, who was one of the most popular actresses/singers of their time.

In Washington DC there is a famous unusually shaped
building called The Octagon which was built about a block from the White House back in 1801.
Colonel John Tayloe III was the first resident and raised his 15 children there.
One daughter is rumored to have fallen in love with a British soldier, an enemy at the time, and was having a secret
affair with the gentleman. One evening her father caught her sneaking down the
stairway and they had a violent argument, which caused the girl to lose her balance and fall to her death over the railing. His daughters ghost came back to haunt the home and was seen numerous times creeping
down the stairs with a candle with the intention of sneaking out, then a terrible scream is heard along with a harsh thud
at the bottom of the stairs. The haunting caused the Tayloe family to move back
to Virginia. The haunting continues to this day it is reported.

Charles City Virginia is home to Edgewood Plantation
where upon an upstairs windowpane you will see the name ‘Elizabeth Lizzie Rowland’ etched into the glass. It is
written that she died of a broken heart after waiting for her lover to return from the Civil War while watching out the window
for his arrival. She is still seen waiting in hopelessness from behind the lacey
curtains.

Linlithogow Palace in Scotland has the ghost of a
young lass that died of a broken heart (It is rumored that she literally refused to stop eating!) because her father refused
for her to marry a certain young man. She still drifts around the rooms leaving
the scent of her perfume and her mournful weeping for her lost love.
……………….
Harding University, Arkansas, back in the 1930’s,
a young woman majoring in music fell in love with another student who was tragically killed in a car accident. Being very depressed she then spent every waking hour up on the third floor of the music building playing
the piano. A short time later the same year she too died, some say of a broken
heart, but students to this day swear they can still hear her playing the piano, serenading her lover from the great beyond.

Eagle’ (use to be a family home), where two teenage ghosts named Armando and Inez haunt it. Armando belonged to a wealthy family and Inez was just a family maid but they fell in love against their
family’s wishes. The young girl is fired but the mother of Armando discovers
them together not long after and stabs the girl to death with a pair of sewing scissors and accidentally stabs her son in
